Toner-Crete has reached another major milestone on our commercial concrete project in Butler, with the Building A ground slabs now completed.

Across Buildings A and B, the project has already involved more than 500m³ of concrete for structural footings and ground slabs, together with the tying and placement of the required structural steel.

The project demonstrates Toner-Crete’s ability to manage multiple stages of large-scale commercial concrete construction, from groundwork and reinforcement through to concrete placement and preparation for tilt-up construction.

Building A Ground Slab Completed

The latest stage saw our team complete the Building A ground slabs, following the preparation, reinforcement and concrete works required across the building footprint.

Large commercial slabs require careful coordination between steel fixing, formwork, concrete supply, pumping and finishing. The completed slab provides the foundation for the next stages of the commercial development.

With Building A reaching this milestone, attention is now moving to Building B.

Over 500m³ of Concrete Across the Development

More than 500 cubic metres of concrete has now been placed across the footings and slabs for both buildings.

The works have included extensive structural footing construction, reinforcement and ground slab preparation, with all structural steel tied and positioned as required.

The scale of the project highlights the capability required for major commercial concrete works where large concrete volumes, multiple pours and different construction stages must be coordinated efficiently.

Structural Steel & Reinforcement

A significant component of the project has been the preparation and placement of the structural steel required throughout the footings and slabs.

The attached project images show the extensive reinforcement involved before concrete placement, as well as the progression from groundworks and footing construction through to the completed commercial slab.

Correct reinforcement placement is an essential part of achieving the structural performance required for large commercial concrete developments.

Building B Groundworks Underway

With the Building A ground slab completed, our focus now shifts to the Building B groundworks and slab construction.

This next stage will continue the project’s concrete construction program before work progresses to the tilt-up component of the development.

100 Tilt-Up Panels to Be Fabricated On-Site

Following completion of the ground slabs, Toner-Crete will move into another significant stage of the project: the on-site fabrication of 100 tilt-up concrete panels.

Producing the panels on-site allows the tilt-up construction process to form part of the broader project program, progressing the development from foundations and slabs through to the structural building elements.

We’ll continue documenting the Butler project as the Building B slab and tilt-up panel stages progress.
